PSA Integrates Opel/Vauxhall: SPEEDI PSA CALDEL Maps New EDI Requirements Directly in SAP

With SPEEDI PSA CALDEL, suppliers of the PSA subsidiaries Opel/Vauxhall, which use SAP software and have not yet supplied PSA, can handle the EDI processes of both OEMs per the PSA requirements in an IT-supported manner in SAP.

General Motors (GM) sold its Opel and Vauxhall companies in 2017 to the French PSA Group. Currently, PSA, known for Citroën, DS, and Peugeot, is migrating its two new subsidiaries and their plants step by step to its processes. Above all, the EDI-based logistics processes have special features in the PSA Group. For forecast delivery schedules, for example, the Group uses a special variant of the EDIFACT message type DELJIT, called PSA Caldel V2, and for pallet control at the cross-dock, the so-called code routing number. The GALIA delivery notes and ETI 9 labels in the GALIA ODETTE standard are PSA-specific as well. The corresponding requirements are specified in the “Manuel Logistique PSA (MLP).”

PSA Caldel Label

Using the SPEEDI PSA CALDEL OEM solution, Opel/Vauxhall suppliers, which have not previously worked with PSA, can seamlessly integrate and map these specific EDI requirements into their SAP system. The SPEEDI solution package incorporates the information from the forecast delivery schedules, including the additional code routing data, directly into the SAP processes. This enables the suppliers an IT-supported, automated, transparent, and thus very efficient EDI processing in SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA – a real added value.
