Telegärtner optimizes third-party processing for single orders

Add-on SPEEDI Third-Party integrated in SAP S/4HANA

Between 70 and 100 individual customer orders per day alone are transferred by Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH in the third-party processing to the sister company Telegärtner Gerätebau for production and direct delivery to the customer. These include products with very high variant depth, as well as products that are delivered to customers in partial quantities.

Wherever data or signals are transmitted and connections are established, the Telegärtner Group is on hand with products and solutions.

Its core competence includes the production and sale of connectors - several million of which are manufactured worldwide every year. Founded in 1945, the owner-managed family business with 700 employees and 11 locations worldwide is a classic medium-sized company.

No growth without digitalization

In 2019, the Telegärtner management anchored the new growth strategy and with it the "Digital Transformation 2025" strategy project.

Alexander Voss, Head of IT at Telegärtner:
"A core objective of the transformation is to significantly increase the digitalization and automation of processes in order to place the customer even more at the heart of our business activities. This requires uniform systems and harmonized master data, both within the Group and for the customer. We have very heterogeneous IT landscapes in the Telegärtner Group, which means a considerable amount of maintenance work and sometimes slows down business processes. We are therefore currently in the process of restructuring the IT systems of the entire group."

An important milestone in the strategy project was the introduction of SAP S/4HANA with EWM at the largest Telegärtner company, Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH, in May 2021. Further roll-outs for the subsidiaries are being planned.

SPEEDI ensures efficiency and transparency in the third-party process

With the implementation and integration of the solution SPEEDI route in S/4HANA, the entire process has been turned on its head.

Instead of order-related invoicing, Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH now invoices on a delivery-related basis, fully integrated and automated in S/4HANA. The add-on SPEEDI the complete booking management - from goods receipt, delivery to goods issue.

Another advantage: The SPEEDI-monitor clearly shows the status of all route orders and deliveries.
