JIS delivery at Audi: The string of pearls

Requirement:

When supplying Audi according to Perlenkette (PK), you as a supplier usually receive three different EDI messages: The LafesJIT preview, the PK call-off (A520) and an assembly order (F000). All EDIs are transmitted to the supplier in the format "ODETTE DELJIT SYNCRO V3".

Procedure:

The LafesJIT Preview has a weekly frequency, but is transmitted daily with changes and has a lead time of 4 weeks before installation at Audi. The preview is related to identification numbers, but does not yet contain sequence numbers. The preview vehicles can be overplanned and modified daily.

The PF call-off A520 is sent in several daily packets. The PF call-off contains sequence numbers, 90 to 95 percent of which are fixed. The supplier receives the A520 call-off six days before installation at Audi.

The Assembly order F000 reaches your system approximately six hours before installation at Audi. The F000 maps the actual sequence at the OEM (delivery in tax time). It also forms the basis for the TSL (billing).

All call-off formats already contain customer numbers for the identification numbers they contain.

Delivery:

Depending on the proximity to the OEM, delivery takes place either on the basis of the F000 call-off or, for longer distances, on the basis of A520.

Delivery takes place according to the sequence order defined by the call-offs.

Audi delivery with SAP: The most important special processes

As a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, Audi uses the same processes as VW. These are special requirements that are not covered by SAP systems. As a result, suppliers are reaching their limits with their systems. We list the most important special requirements here:

1. audi: VW packaging and ownership identifier

The process for supplying Audi follows recommendation VDA 4987. Among other things, this concerns the packaging and ownership identifier, which must be provided in the shipping notification. In the SAP standard, such information is not provided in the outgoing message (SHPMNT05 or ASN XML from the TM).

2. audi: VW consignment note according to VDA 4939

Shipments to Audi must be accompanied by a consignment note. This is based on VDA 4939. Numerous points of the VDA recommendation are adopted one-to-one by Audi, but deviations are also made in individual places. The structure and parts of the information contained in the shipment document cannot be set in the SAP standard, but must be set up individually.

3. audi: VW shipping labels according to VDA 4994

The VDA recommendation VDA recommendation 4994 (also Global Transport Label, GTL) describes specifications for the design of the labeling of transport units from suppliers to car manufacturers. Audi's specifications are based on this recommendation, but also deviate from it in places. In general, various labels are defined, including the Single Label in different versions and the Master Label. The SAP standard is not capable of correctly converting the master data and storing additional data. The output of this data on the different labels must therefore be set up in a complex manner.

4. audi: VW Global EDI VDA 4984 and 4987

A recurring problem with OEM requirements is the lack of options to transfer transmitted information into the SAP system or to enrich outgoing messages with information. The incorporation of forecast delivery schedules according to VDA 4984 does not work completely with the SAP message type DELFOR02. The situation is similar for the shipping notification: The SAP IDoc (SAP SHPMNT) must be enriched with additional information to meet the requirements of VDA 4987.
