WSW Software GmbH is launching a successful collaboration with automotive supplier HARMAN to further automate and simplify its logistics planning. HARMAN, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, which develops and distributes connected car and car audio technologies and products, among other things, has implemented the SPEEDI Tolerance line testing from WSW Software successfully introduced in the automotive sector.
The SPEEDI-The solution supports the automatic incorporation of EDI delivery call-offs from OEM customers and provides reliable information on whether agreed tolerance limits are exceeded or fallen short of with regard to the delivery quantity. By automatically checking the tolerance limits directly in SAP, HARMAN benefits from cost savings and efficiency gains. The concrete benefits are extremely diverse. Customer support staff are relieved as the time-consuming manual checking of delivery call-offs in Excel and using SAP delivery schedule comparisons is no longer necessary. For one German premium OEM customer alone, there are 400 delivery call-offs per day that previously had to be checked in this way. Now there is more time for other important tasks.
Above all, the automatic check leads to high cost savings, as HARMAN can now reliably notify its OEM customers within the contractually agreed, sometimes very short response times if a call-off violates the tolerance limits. For premium and specialty freight alone, the savings are in the millions of euros, meaning that the costs of purchasing, operating and maintaining the SPEEDI tolerance line testing amortized within a few months, another big plus point.
The SPEEDI tolerance line testing is already being used extensively for the German premium OEM customer. The solution is now to be rolled out step by step to as many OEM customers as possible.
